“I Am Number Four”
Starring Alex Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant, Dianna Agron; Directed by D.J. Caruso
Opens Friday
An exceptional teen, John (Pettyfer), jumps from place to place to hide from the people who want to kill him. But, when he falls for a local girl (Agron) and finds out there are more like him, he decides to stop running and face the forces against him. With a cast of rising stars (like Glee’s Agron and Justified’s Olyphant) and controversial writer James Frey (author of the faux memoire A Million Little Pieces) as a source material co-writer, it should be fun to see how it turns out.
“Unknown”
Starring Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger, January Jones; Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra
Opens Friday
After being in a horrific car accident, Martin Harris (Neeson) wakes up from a coma to find that his wife (Jones) doesn’t know who he is and someone else has assumed his identity. While being hunted down by killers in Berlin, he finds a woman did so well in 2008, it’s no small wonder Neeson is after another action thriller. Hopefully, this will be as good as his last.
“Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son”
Starring Martin Lawrence, Brandon T. Jackson; Directed by John Whitesell
Opens Friday
Father and stepson duo (Lawerence and Jackson respectively) go undercover as women at an all-girls school after FBI agent Malcom Turner’s stepson witnesses a murder. While this is the third installment in the Big Momma series, maybe there is something new to be offered by men dressing in drag.
At The Student Center
“Due Date”
Showing at 8 and 10:30 p.m. at the Student Center Auditorium
Starring Robert Downey Jr., Zach Galifianakis, Michelle Monaghan; Directed by Todd Phillips
Father-to-be Peter Highman (Downey Jr.) is desperate to be there for the arrival of his child. But, after ending up on the no-fly list, he hitches a ride with aspiring actor Ethan (Galifianakis) to get across the country before his wife (Monaghan) is induced. Chaos, as expected, ensues. This hilarious comedy is a promising flick for a night at the movies with your fellow EMU students.
