Campus:
Jan. 29- Multiple subjects were observed smoking marijuana in a vehicle at 6:28 p.m. near the Walton Hall parking meters.

Subjects were drunk and behaving disorderly at 11:57 p.m. in the Marriott Hotel Ballroom located on Huron Street.

At 7:05 p.m. a subject was found inside of Bowen after hours and gave false identification to police officers.

Jan.30- A student found damage was done to his vehicle between 2 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. after being left in North Campus Lot.

At 4:23 p.m. juveniles acting disorderly in the Student Center were issued trespass notices and turned over to their guardians.

A subject was arrested at 5:34 p.m. for a bench warrant for driving with a suspended license on Oakwood St.

At 9:12 p.m. multiple gate arms were broken off parking lot entrances to North Campus Lot.

Local:
Jan.28- Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Laurel Avenue for a suspicious incident complaint. The deputies determined a resident, who had given a detailed description, had observed a suspicious person run through his backyard. Upon further investigation, the deputies discovered a burglary had just occurred in the neighborhood. The suspect broke a bathroom window to gain entry at 9:20 a.m. After obtaining a suspect description, deputies canvassed the area and observed footprints in the snow leading away from the residence. After following the foot prints, they located a subject fitting the description carrying several items in the 1000 block of Pageant Avenue. The subject, upon seeing the deputies, dropped the items and ran. The deputies gave chase but lost the subject and the K-9 unit was called. The items the subject dropped were taken during a burglary in the 1000 block of Pageant Avenue. The resident, who had made the initial call about the suspicious person in his backyard, called again and said she saw the subject running on Nottingham Drive. Deputies located the subject, an 18-year-old male, at Nottingham Drive and Stephens Drive and he was taken into custody.

A GPS system was taken from a vehicle between 4 and 5 a.m. in the 7000 block of Bellemeade Street.

Around 12 p.m., in the 1000 block of Timber Ridge Drive, a stereo system was taken from an unlocked vehicle.

Miscellaneous jewelry was taken at 7:53 p.m. from a residence in the 300 block of Fairhills Drive after a suspect smashed a rear window to gain entry.

Jan.31- Deputies conducting proactive patrol in the 8000 block of MacArthur Boulevard observed a parked vehicle in violation of the apartment complex’s loitering policy. The deputies smelled a strong odor of suspected marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputies then asked the suspect to exit the vehicle. The suspect exited and began to fight with the deputies. The suspect then produced a handgun and threw it under the vehicle. The suspect continued to fight with deputies and was tasered. After the taser deployment, the suspect took off running but was caught immediately and arrested. The suspect, a 19-year-old male Ypsilanti City resident, also had several baggies of suspected marijuana on his person and had an outstanding felony warrant. The handgun the suspect produced was recovered by the deputies and was found to be fully loaded. The suspect was transported to the county jail and was charged with an assortment of felony charges.
