Campus:
March 20 – A subject was arrested at 8:16 p.m. for resisting arrest for simple assault in Sellers Hall.

March 21- At 2:26 p.m. a subject reported a bulletin board was set on fire in Wise Hall.

A suspect was arrested at 3:34 p.m. in Halle Library for stealing a backpack containing textbooks and electronics.

A subject was arrested at 9:18 p.m. for violation of a bond conditional release in Halle Library.

March 22- A Playstation 3 was stolen at 9:24 p.m. from a room in Best Hall while the resident was asleep.

Local:
March 18- Cash, a backpack, checkbook, MP3 player and a textbook were stolen from an automobile around 9 p.m. in the 1000 block of East Michigan Avenue.

March 19- Between 8 and 11 p.m. a subject broke into a house in the 1000 block of Sheffield Drive by forcing open the front door to gain entry. It is not known what was taken.

Deputies responded to a burglary in progress in the 1000 block of Holmes Road. A citizen in the area heard an alarm and looked outside to see the business being broken into. Another citizen called in to report two suspicious subjects in the area of Hunter Avenue and Laurel Avenue. Deputies determined that Suspect 1 threw a large piece of concrete through the front glass door to gain entry. The second suspect never entered the store. The suspects were last seen running north on Hunter Avenue at 3:27 a.m. Several bottles of prescription drugs were taken.

A handgun was stolen around 10 p.m. from a residence in the 9000 block of Ivan Drive. Deputies believe the suspect opened the front door with a key the homeowner previously lost.

Between 1:30 and 9:30 p.m. a suspect broke out a window and crawled through to gain entry into a residence in the 300 block of North Harris Road. It is not know what was taken.

March 20- Laptop computers were stolen around 2:30 a.m. from a residence in the 2000 block of Golfside Drive after a suspect cut a screen and slid open a window to gain entry.

Deputies were able to locate and arrest a suspect they believe snatched a woman’s purse in the 7000 block of Tremont Boulevard. The victim, a 20-year-old female, was leaving a party at an unknown location when the suspect asked her for a ride home. The victim had met the suspect a couple of times in the past and only knew his first name. While the victim was driving, the suspect opened the passenger door and grabbed the victim’s purse and took off running through backyards. The deputies called for a K-9 unit and the dog stopped at an address in the 7000 block of Greenfield Street. The deputies contacted a male and female at the residence and located the suspect in an upstairs bedroom. The suspect confessed to stealing the purse. All of the victim’s property was located and returned. The suspect, a 17-year-old male Ypsilanti Township resident, was arrested and transported to the county jail without incident.
