Find some balance

Autumn is approaching and as the school-year routine is falling into place, most students find themselves traveling to and from classes while listening to music on their preferred music device.

With so much music out there, what exactly is there to listen to? A good suggestion would be Balance & Composure. This Pennsylvania-native indie-rock band has a perfect fall sound to it – not too happy, but not quite sad. Its music can suit your mood whether it is angry, sad, or just content.

With their first full-length album, Separation, having been released in May, now is the perfect time to put it on repeat and learn all the words – not just for the sake of knowing it, but because it will be playing in Detroit at The Magic Stick on Oct. 6th with bands Polar Bear Club, Fireworks and Such Gold.

Balance & Composure leaves you with lyrics that are relatable and catchy, but slow melodies that will stay in your head for days. Songs such as “Stonehands” have beautiful and intense sounds, and others like “Void” carry strong and connotative meanings that the melodies carry out.

This album gives listeners a variety of different sounds and is definitely not to be passed up by those who enjoy music and different artists. Don’t just check out the newest album, listen to Balance & Composure’s older EP’s as well. This is a band that put out nothing but the best of its genre and is known for collaborating with fellow indie-rockers, Tigers Jaw.

Balance & Composure is still an up-and-coming band that has become very popular, very quickly in the last few months, and though it might not have garnered critical reviews yet, it are definitely getting some positive attention from fans of the genre. If you’re into bands such as La Dispute or even Title Fight, this band is definitely a good listen. If you want more bands that sound like Balance & Composure, check out Daylight,
Make Do and Mend, or even Seahaven.

Get ready to plug in your headphones! There has never been a more perfect time to embark on a new musical journey, with all the new talent out there and coming to cities near you. Broaden your tastes with Balance & Composure’s Separation album.
