Maybe it really is Maybelline...

Everywhere I look, there are so many ads and commercials promising me thicker, longer, and smudge proof lashes and eye liner. You’ve probably seen, and read, a million of these pitches promising the same thing. But, which one is telling the truth?

If you wear eyeliner, on a regular basis, you have probably experienced, what I call, the raccoon affect. I feel your pain, until recently I couldn’t wear dark eyeliner
without looking like a raccoon at the end of the day.

I love the way my eyes look when they are lined with dark grey or black liner, and when my eyelashes look long and full, but I got really tired of my mascara running and my eyeliner smudging. By the end of a sweaty night at the bar, I looked like I had been punched in the face. If I so much as rubbed my itchy eye, fingers would turn black.

I have tried too many brands of “smudge proof” mascara and eyeliner that just didn’t live up to its promise. It got so frustrating, that I was ready to give up my search.

Until one day I was out shopping with a friend who loves a really thick, cat eye style liner. She recommended Maybelline New York Unstoppable eyeliner. I loved it!

As serendipity would have it, a few weeks later, I found a solution to the mascara in a little tube labeled, Maybelline’s New York The Falsies Volume Express Waterproof.

These products make those same grandiose claims, but trust me, they live up to their name’s. In fact, these products work so well that, sometimes, it’s hard to get them off with a regular make-up remover. But, don’t worry. I have a solution for that too: baby
oil.

Baby Oil is amazing. Put a tiny bit on a Q-tip or a cotton ball, and rub the eyeliner off. It doesn’t take much baby oil, or strength. Make-up remover, on the other hand, does take time, and can sometimes irritate one’s face, if especially if, like me, you have sensitive skin.

I would NOT recommend putting Baby oil on your eyelashes, because it might get into your eyes. But baby shampoo can also do the trick, and is easier on the eyes. I am not recommending putting anything foreign in your eyes, because that could, and probably would hurt. But, baby shampoo is much more gentle than baby oil if you get it in your eyes.

Now that you know the trick to sexy eyes that won’t smudge, smear, or run; get creative! Try new things with your eyeliner. There are so many different options in terms of styles this season, and just in general.

There are a plethora of websites, Youtube videos, and Magazine articles all related to eye liner designs. This is just one of them,http://makeuplovetoknow.com/Eyeliner_Designs. Plan a night with your friends to get dressed up, experiment with your eyes, go out, and HAVE FUN!!
