Man arrested for stealing school bus

A man was arrested on Thanksgiving for stealing a school bus from a junkyard and driving without a license, reported Click on Detroit Thursday.

The man in custody, 25-year-old Josiah Curtis, said he had stolen the school bus because he wanted to start a rap group in Detroit.

CBS Detroit reported that Curtis’ family disclosed he has had a history of mental illness and had been admitted to the mental hospital.

Curtis was driving on I-94 when police pulled him over for reckless driving. It was then discovered he did not have a license or paperwork proving ownership of the bus.

Further Investigation showed Curtis had hopped over a junkyard fence and attempted to steal various buses before finding one that would start.

His hearing will take place Tuesday. Until then, Curtis will be held at the Washtenaw County Jail.
