One person is dead and another arrested following a reported stabbing in Ypsilanti on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, according to a news release from Ypsilanti Police Department.
On Aug. 25, police responded at approximately 6:44 p.m. at the 200 block of North Washington Street after receiving a report of a possible stabbing.
Upon arrival, police found a vehicle with a male driver covered in blood. A male passenger was also found inside the vehicle covered in blood with what appeared to be several stab wounds, police said in the release.
Medical personnel responded and confirmed the passenger was deceased.
The driver was treated at a local hospital before being lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail, according to police.
YPD said it does not believe the incident was random. The investigation remains ongoing, and police did not release additional information.
