Follow-up information relative to the Feb. 7 Eastern Echo article “Resolution to impeach Norfleet withdrawn” will be forthcoming.
Eastern Michigan University Student Government Speaker of the Senate, Leo Cartier, brought a resolution to the Senate floor Jan. 29 calling for the impeachment of Student Body President Matthew Norfleet. In a Feb. 3 statement, Student Government announced the withdrawal of the resolution by Cartier, after further investigation and discussion between Norfleet and Cartier.
Currently The Echo is in the process of negotiating with Student Government to release information and documentation about the closed executive session regarding the impeachment resolution, as well as meeting with President Norfleet, Speaker Cartier and Student Government Director of Communications Benjamin Elmgren to discuss the proceedings.
