EMU ‘Theatre on Ice’ team—

Eastern Michigan University senior in physical and health education Megan Lepkowski, and the Harmony Theatre Company’s Theatre on Ice team, seized the silver medal at the Nation’s Cup, according to an article on EMU’s website.

The event took place in Longrono, Spain, in April of this year. In June, the group also achieved the gold medal at the US Figure Skating National Theatre on Ice Competition in Troy, Ohio, the article states.

General Motors Grant—

General Motors Co. will grant Project Lead The Way programs in Michigan with a $300,000 three-year pledge, according to an article on Eastern Michigan University’s website.

Schools that acquire grant funds can use the money to pay for charges including program participation fees, supplies and equipment for classrooms and training for teachers at EMU.

PLTW is a non-profit supplier of the science, technology, engineering and mathematics courses for both high school and middle schools in the U.S., the article also states.

Professional Development Conference set for Sept. 19—

Eastern Michigan University College of Business graduate, Rick Neu, will be one of many speakers at the EMU Professional Development Business Conference, according to an article on the college’s website.

Neu graduated in 1977 and has a career in accounting. With other EMU alumni speaking at the event, Neu will offer tips on how to be effective in today’s business world, the article states.

The conference will be held at the College of Business on Sept. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. EMU will have more than 30 alumni speaking at the conference. Sessions will start at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., according to the article.
