Jan 7.

A young woman who is not a student at Eastern Michigan University was reported to police for throwing papers and other office supplies around the Student Center computer lab at 12:28 p.m. The woman was upset that the university was closed for the day. Police calmed her down and escorted her home. Once she was home, police barred her from returning to campus.

Jan 8.

A student resident of Wise Hall was reported to police for making threatening statements against the university, including threats to burn buildings on campus. The student made these threats at 8:42 p.m.

During the investigation, police found items in the student’s room that could have been used to start a fire and the student was taken to jail. Upon further investigation, police deemed this student as non-threatening and he will not be charged criminally. The issue has been turned over to the university and the student will face punishment under the Student Code of Conduct.

Jan 9.

A subject on Ballard and Olive streets was found with a small amount of marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia at 5:43 p.m.
