Eastern Michigan University police are currently investigating a reported attempted unarmed robbery that took place at approximately 6 p.m. today. The victim is an EMU student.
The victim reported she was approached from behind by an African American male, approximately six feet tall and wearing a black coat and black knit hat while she was walking on the north side of the bus shelter in the Rynearson parking lot.
The male allegedly hit her in the back of the head and knocked her down. She reports that the blow left her briefly unconscious. She was treated at the scene and released with no reported injuries.
The victim reported that the male proceeded to rummage through her backpack and then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
