April 8

Police were called to Sellers Residence Hall at 10:03 p.m. to respond to the odor of marijuana coming from a student’s room. The student and another suspect in the student’s room were found to have marijuana and alcohol in their possession. The student was cited for possession of marijuana and minor in possession and may face discipline under the Student Code of Conduct and Community Standards. The other suspect in the student’s room initially gave police a false identity when questioned. When police determined who the suspect actually was, it was found that the suspect had warrants out for his or her arrest. The suspect was cited with obstructing police and was taken to the Washtenaw County Jail.

Officers responded to a call near Ballard Street and West Cross Street at 10:27 p.m. An intoxicated subject stopped on a sorority house’s steps and could not continue on under his own volition. Officers cited the man with public intoxication and possession of an open container of alcohol in public, and the man was transported by HVA to the hospital.

April 9

Police spotted a man on North Huron Street at 10:33 p.m. urinating in public. Police gave the man a verbal warning and released him.

April 10

A student reported that his or her cell phone was stolen at 6:30 from Mark Jefferson. Officers are currently attempting to track the stolen phone and the investigation remains open.

Patrolling officers observed a known trespasser panhandling in front of the College of Business at 8:26 p.m. The subject was cited and directed to leave the area.

Police observed a man attempting to carry an unconscious man near Michigan Avenue and Adams Street at 8:44 p.m. The unconscious man was unresponsive and was rushed to the hospital by HVA.
