Halloween activities for all

From parties to haunted houses, October is the month that is anything but boring with Halloween being one of the most anticipated holidays of the year. In honor of Halloween approaching fast, I made a list of events you can attend that are not only fun, but also near campus.

1) Main Street Halloween Treat Parade

Make sure you're in your costume on your way downtown for Ann Arbor's 14th annual Treat Parade. Businesses with black and orange balloons tied out front welcome trick-or-treaters.

Date: Friday, October 31.

Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Price: Free.

Location: Downtown Ann Arbor.

2) Halloween Band Masquerade at The Blind Pig

Performers include Scissor Now as Daft Punk, Cyrano Jones as Cream, Wild Savages as ZZ Top, and Lux/Doom/Porkins as Big Black. This event is for those 18 and older.

Date: Friday, October 31.

Time: Doors open at 9:30 p.m.

Price: $7.

Location: 208 South First Street, Ann Arbor.

3) The Terrorfied Forest and Manor: You can take a haunted hike, visit the Haunted Manor, or visit the Hillside Mortuary. Note that the last day is November first.

Date: Open Friday through Sunday, through Nov. 1, plus Thursday, Oct. 30.

Time: 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays.

Price: Manor - $9, Forest- $18, combo- $25 (Sunday combo discount- $20).

Location: 145 Swarthout Road, Pinckney.

4) Downtown Halloween Festival

Enjoy Halloween Downtown at the Library Park Plaza. Trick or treat at local businesses and stop by Library Plaza to eat popcorn, play games, and win books! The “Boo!Mobile” will be at the library too, with fun giveaways.

Time: 5:00 pm

Downtown Halloween Festival

Location: Thursday, October 30

Time: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Where: Library Park Plaza/Downtown Ypsilanti
