True Life exhibit

The Women's Resource Center will be hosting True Life all day Monday through Wednesday in room 310 Student Center. The exhibit will be using art to expose the experiences of the victims of domestic violence. Survivors, family members and the perpetrators have created the artwork. This LBC-approved event is free.

Women’s Association, Women’s Commission to hold reception

The Eastern Michigan University’s Women's Association and Women's Commission will hold a reception in honor of the 2015-16 scholarship awardees and Emeritus Professor Kay Woodiel from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Monday at the University House. The event is free.

Kurdish Student Organization to hold first meeting

The Kurdish Student Organization will host its first meeting at 5 p.m., Monday, in room 301 Student Center. The free event will be an opportunity for students to learn about Kurdistan, try free food and participate in games.

Free screenings for depression and anxiety

EMU's Counseling and Psychological Services will be holding free, confidential screening for depression and anxiety from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, in the Student Center room 104. The free service will be available to all students.

LGBTQ Project Debrief

EMU's LGBT Resource Center will be continuing OUTober with I AM: The LGBTQ Project Debrief from 3 - 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, in room 352 Student Center. The LBC approved event will explore language and identities represented in the I AM project.

Wellness Woof Wednesday

Snow Health Center will host Wellness Woof Wednesday, from 4 - 7 p.m., Wednesday in Snow Center 103. Students can visit with four licensed therapy dogs. The free session is open to all students.

EMU chapter of Engineer Society of Detroit to hold meeting

The College of Technology is starting a chapter of the Engineer Society of Detroit. According to esd.org, the society "promotes and celebrates excellence, innovation, cooperation, professional growth and fellowship in engineering, scientific and allied professions." The chapter will be meeting from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, in Sill 143. Free food will be provided. Students must RSVP in advance.
