Eastern Michigan University’s Indian Student Association, in association with the International Student Association, will host the second annual Diwali Night at 7 p.m., Nov. 15, in the Student Center Ballroom.
Diwali is a traditional Hindu celebration of lights, which symbolizes the triumph of good over evil.
Shruti Somani, an EMU student and Vice President of communications for the association, said the ultimate goal of the event was to provide diversity.
The party is free and will have Indian food and a live D.J. will play Bollywood music.
Students who are not familiar with the traditional Dandiya Raas dance, a dance with sticks, will have the opportunity to learn.
