Eastern Michigan University is back in full gear as of Wednesday.

The EMU wrestling team will take on Northern Iowa at the Convocation Center Wednesday, Jan. 6. at 12:00 p.m. tickets are $5 per person.

The EMU women's basketball team will be playing Akron at the Convocation Center at 7:00 p.m. Jan. 6.

The College of Education will be having Walk-in Advising Wednesday through Friday, starting each day at 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This will be in 206 Porter. Students must register through a link available on the EMU calendar. This is free and LBC approved.

Lyric Lounge is back, Thursday, Jan. 7. The event is an open mic for poets hosted by Campus Life and the Poetry Society. This will be at 9:00 p.m. in Student Center Room 300, food will be available at the beginning of the event.

College of Education Students will be able to take advantage of a Group Advising Session, Friday, Jan. 8, at 10:00 a.m. This hour and a half long informative lecture will be on the changed admission rules for the Initial Teacher Preparation Program. Anyone interested will have to register beforehand. This is free and LBC approved.

The first Friday Night Movie this semester will be Hotel Transylvania 2. The Friday movie is free and will be showing in the Student Center Auditorium, at 8:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Undergraduate social work students who are interested in getting a masters degree will be able to learn more about EMU's grad school program, Saturday, Jan. 9. The program will be holding a 2-hour long information session in Marshall room 203 at 10:00 a.m. According to their website, BSW students with an overall 2.75 GPA or higher, or a 3.0 GPA in the last 60 credit hours, will “qualify for advanced standing.” This event is free.
