Police Blotter, Jan. 18

Monday, Jan. 11, 2016.

  • DPS’s K9 officer assisted the Ypsilanti Police Department in the search for a suspect. At 9:17 p.m., the unit was called out to search a parking lot along North Hamilton Street. The suspect was not apprehended.

Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016.

  • A student called DPS at 1:26 p.m. to report that their PS4 had been stolen. The student left it in an unused room of Brown. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 1:00 p.m. and then that day. DPS is reviewing security camera footage.
  • Housing called DPS at 2:14 p.m. They reported learning of a case of an unidentified student in Walton, who reported being stalked by an unidentified person between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15 2015. The student did not contact DPS or Housing. Housing found out about this from another source. They told DPS, who put it in the crime log to comply with the Cleary Act. DPS then said they were doing this for record keeping, but since there was no complaint, there was no case for them to make.

Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016.

  • DPS pulled over a car for a traffic violation at 7:28 p.m between Michigan Avenue and Hamilton Street. Both driver and passenger were non-EMU students. DPS found marijuana in the car. The driver was cited for narcotic paraphernalia. The passenger was arrested on bench warrants and taken to the Washtenaw County Jail.
