Police blotter Feb. 13.

Monday, Feb. 8, 2016

  • The Department of Public Safety came across a man urinating on Cross Street by the Eagles Market at 1:39 a.m. The non-student was cited then released.
  • Parking called DPS to report the use of a fake hang tag in North Campus Lot at 9:57 a.m. The student has been referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
  • A university laptop was reported stolen from Sherzer at 12:56 p.m. by a staff member. The laptop was left unattended from 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 5 to 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 8.
  • A student returned to their car in South Oakwood Lot to find the hood of their car damaged. This was reported this at 10:06 p.m. DPS says they believe someone climbed on it. They are reviewing camera footage.
  • A student was mugged outside of Pierce Hall for his cell phone at 10:53 p.m. According to the timely warning, he fought back against the two attackers, who fled and took his phone. The victim did not receive any serious injuries and the two suspects fled on foot.

Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016.

  • A patrol car found a man urinating near the corner of Cross and College Place at 1:56 a.m. The non-student was cited and taken to St. Joseph Mercy’s Hospital.
  • An EMU student called DPS at 3:53 p.m. after finding alcohol that was not theirs inside of the fridge of their dorm. Their underage roommate, who was the owner of the alcohol, has been referred to Student Conduct.
  • A student's resident parking tag was stolen between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in Mayhew Lot. DPS says that the car was locked, but there is no sign of forced entry. They are reviewing camera footage from the area.

Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016.

  • A student in the Rec/IM reported their cell phone was stolen at 9:14 p.m. It had been left next to the bleachers between 6:00 and 7:45 p.m.
