Students will have the opportunity to learn about Confucianism Monday, March 21, when Grand Valley State University professor Peimin Ni visits campus. According to the event’s Facebook page, the professor will lecture on “the Gonfu Reading of Confucianism and its implications for philosophy.” His hour and a half long lecture, part of the philosophy speaker series, is in Halle Library room 300 at 5:30 p.m. This is free and LBC approved.

The United States may very well have its first female president within a year and March is Women’s History Month. The Women’s Resource Center will be screening Makers, a documentary on women in politics. It aired on PBS in 2014. This will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Student Center 310A. This is free and LBC approved.

Peter Thomas of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra will be teaming up with his wife, Madeleine Kabat of La Sierra University, in the Alexander Music Building, Thursday, March 22. Starting at 7:00 p.m., they will be performing works by composers such as Boccherini and Brahms, according to the EMU calendar. This is free and LBC approved.

“How does mental health look through your eyes?” That is the question that the EMU mental health organization, SAFE, will be asking at 1:00 p.m., March 22. According to their EMU page, participants at this free four-hour long meeting will take “a photograph of something and attach a short narrative that shows what mental health means to them.”

The Interp/Performance Studies Program will be performing a free hour long show in the Quirk/Spongberg Theater, Thursday, at 5:00 p.m. Performers include students, professors and staff members. This is LBC approved.

Pride Prom has a “superqueeroes” theme this year. This LGBTQ+ party will be in the Student Center Ballroom from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Attendance is free.

Seniors in the capstone class for the Bachelors of Fine Arts program will be displaying their works in the Capstone Exhibition starting Wednesday, March 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The best of their final projects will be on display in the Ford Gallery. Entrance is free.

There are more online education options that ever. The Faculty Development Center and Center for E-Learning will be hosting a “Brown Bag” series discussion on “Standards Driven Online Course Design” in Halle Library room 104, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Attendance is free and online attendees can register on the FDC’s EMU page.
