Police Blotter: Jan. 14- Jan 20

Monday, January 14

A case retail fraud theft in the second degree was reported at the College of Business at 9:57 a.m. The theft is believed to have occurred between October 10, 2018 and January 10, 2019. The case remains open.

A Campus Security Authority (CSA) made a report to the EMU Police at 11:07 a.m. The details of the case are unknown at this time, though the crime occurred on campus between midnight and 2:45 a.m. on January 8. The case remains open.

The illegal use of a credit card was reported at Pray-Harrold at 12:51 p.m. The case remains open.

An individual was found to have again trespassed in McKenny Union during an alarm check at 7:29 p.m. The case remains open.


Tuesday, January 15

An intoxicated individual was charged with drunkenness after being found laying in the street at North Prospect Street and East Forest Avenue. The individual was found at 8:08 p.m. and the case remains open.

A set of Best Hall residents were involved in a roommate altercation. The assault occurred between 10:50 p.m. and 11:05 p.m., with it being reported at 11:05 p.m. The case remains open.


Wednesday, January 16

A driver was found to be operating while intoxicated during a routine traffic stop at 12:31 a.m. The stop occurred at College Place and West Forest Ave. The case remains open.

An individual was found to be driving with a suspended license and a concealed weapon, leading to their arrest. The traffic stop occurred at Washtenaw and Boston Avenues at 5:44 p.m. with the case closing on January 17.

Another routine traffic stop resulted in a citation for the driver after police found that they were without insurance. The stop occurred at Washtenaw Avenue and North Hewitt Road at 10:37 p.m. The case was closed the next day.

A Pittman resident was disturbing the peace when they refused to turn down their music at 11:34 p.m. The case remains open.


Thursday, January 17

A driver was found to be driving without a license during a traffic stop at Washtenaw Avenue and West Cross Street. The stop occurred at 5:59 p.m. with the case closing the same day.

Another traffic stop found the driver operating their vehicle without a license and under the influence of drugs. The stop occurred at Washtenaw Avenue and West Summit Street at 9:34 p.m. The case remains open.

Residents of Village Building F were cited for disturbing the peace via their noise level. They were reported at 11:00 p.m. and the case remains open.


Friday, January 18

EMU police assisted another agency with an arrest at Wise Hall at 12:58 a.m. The case closed the same day.

A Pittman resident reported unwanted phone calls and harassment at 11:19 a.m. The case remains open.

A parking enforcer was assaulted in the McKenny Staff Lot at 4:00 p.m. on January 10. The assault was reported on January 18 at 5:31 p.m. The case remains open.

A case of fraud was reported at 8:20 p.m. on Eastern Michigan University’s campus, with the crime occurring at 1:00 p.m. The case remains open.

Liquor was reportedly stolen from a green room in the Convocation Center at 8:47 p.m. The case remains open.

An individual was found to be “tripping on acid” in Downing Hall at 10:28 p.m. The case remains open.


Saturday, January 19

No crimes reported.


Sunday, January 20

An individual reported unwanted sexual contact in the third degree on January 20, at 9:03 p.m. The crime occurred on January 16 at 3:00 a.m. The case remains open.
