The Eastern Michigan volleyball team (9-20, 4-14 MAC) lost in the season finale of the 2021 season against Central Michigan University (13-17, 7-11 MAC). The Chippewas dominated the Eagles, winning all three sets in a clean sweep effort on Friday, Nov. 12.

EMU’s offense was led by redshirt sophomore Raeven Chase who finished with 17 kills and redshirt freshman Krista Blakely who added 12 kills. Chase also finished with a hitting percentage of .538.

On the defensive side, three Eagles reached double figures in digs. The players included sophomore Kamryn Stilwell with 19, sophomore Jayden Otto with 16, and another sophomore Samantha Bashman who added 12.

Early in first set, the score was tied twice. Not long after, the Chippewas grabbed a 5-4 lead and maintained control for the remainder of the matchup.

The second set was hard-fought, featuring six lead changes and nine ties. Chase knocked in nine kills this stanza, followed by Blakely who put in four. The Eagles ultimately fell short again, resulting in a 25-22 loss.
