E|Dining closes The Commons until Monday to repair water main

Repairs continue as University completes water remain repair in three residence halls

From Thursday, Jan. 11 to Monday, Jan. 15, E|Dining will close The Commons to repair the water main.

As of now, the menu at Cluck, located in the Eateries, will be altered as E|Dining plans to move The Commons' offerings to other locations. Cluck will now serve the menu for The Commons' homestyle station until repairs are finished.

E|Dining has created a “Water Main Repair Updates” page on their Dine On Campus website where they will announce updates and any other information.

This closure comes as EMU Physical Plant announced Wednesday they would shut off water in buildings DC-1, Wise Hall, Buell Hall, and Best Hall to repair the broken water main break. Repairs began Thursday at 8 a.m. and finished at 1 p.m. Boil water advisory will remain in place until water quality testing. The university will notify residents when water usage can resume.

In addition to this, the Student Center and Chick-fil-A are likely to have a higher concentration of customers due to EMU hosting the state DECA conference on Thursday and Friday. There are an estimated 300-500 high school students that will be on campus.
