Free Astrology Class: The Moon for Your Highest Potential – July 22, 2025
Those interested in astrology will not want to miss this free Zoom class on Tuesday, July 22! In this fun session, Linda Mendonsa, the director of Astrology Learners Academy, will discuss the moon's influence on individuals' career, intuition, creativity and more from an astrology perspective.

Ypsi Alehouse Open Mic Hosted by Skinned Knees – July 22, 2025
Local musician Sydney Timbrook, leader of the singer-songwriter project Skinned Knees, hosts open mic events at the Ypsi Alehouse from 7 to 9 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month. This week, performers will not want to miss the open mic coming up on Tuesday, July 22.
Performers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to attend. Piano and amplification will be provided.
"The main goals of this event are to foster community, collaboration, and individual growth," said Timbrook. "The Ypsi Alehouse is the place on Tuesday to play, listen, or get a bite to eat!"
The Ypsi Alehouse is located on 124 Pearl Street in Ypsilanti.
26th Annual Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival – July 25 and July 26, 2025
Those 21 years of age and older can sample some delicious beer from Michigan's finest breweries at the 2025 Summer Beer Festival. This is the oldest of the Michigan Brewers Guild's yearly festivals, and this year, it will take place in Riverside Park on 2 E. Cross St. in Ypsilanti.
Attendees can enjoy the festival's beer, food and fun on two separate days – Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26. On Friday, attendees can sample beer, purchase food, and hear live music from Jimmy Olson and Act Casual from 5 to 9 p.m.
On Saturday, attendees can participate in beer tasting from 3 to 6 p.m., followed by the opportunity to purchase full-size beers at designated locations for the rest of the evening (from 6 to 10 p.m.). After that, they can look forward to live performances by Supercrunch and Keller and The Keels from 8 to 10 p.m. On both days, attendees can also enjoy music from DJ Prophet Eks.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com and vary in price. For example, those interested in attending only the concert portion of the evening on Saturday may purchase concert-only admission for a lower cost.
Walk With Friends – July 26, 2025
Looking for a way to get some steps in while socializing and having fun? Washtenaw Optimal Wellness presents Walk With Friends, a community walking event, every Saturday from July 12 to Sept. 27. Participants will walk two miles through downtown and Riverside Park, starting and ending at 105 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti.
Walk With Friends takes place each week from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The event is free and open to community members of all ages.

Lattes & Bouquets: A Flower Bar Experience – July 27, 2025
This event on Sunday, July 27, will be the last in a series of self-care events presented by Bridge Community Café and Swanky Lady Couture.
At the event, attendees can enjoy their favorite beverage from Bridge Community Café while participating in a hands-on flower bar experience by Swanky Lady Couture. Guests will have the opportunity to design their own flower bouquets and take them home in brown bouquet wrapping, a vase, or a newspaper from The Eastern Echo! The Radical Henna Artist and Bizarre Trinkets will also be vending during the event.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bridge Community Café, located at 217 W. Michigan Ave. Attendees are welcome to arrive any time between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

New Moon Ceremony: Embracing Renewal and Setting Intentions in Community – July 28, 2025
On Monday, July 28, Rhizome Roots Studio will host a New Moon Ceremony, a relaxing wellness event focused on nurturing peace and purpose, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
According to Facebook Events, the event will feature "meditative practices, gentle rituals, and an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals." Participants will set new intentions and consider their goals, hopes and dreams. Attendees are also welcome to bring a journal, yoga mat, and water bottle or mug.
This event is donation-based, and participants are encouraged to donate $5 to $10.
