The bar area of the Ypsi Cocktail Club includes a counter, several shelves stocked with beverages, and a beautiful crystal lamp hanging overhead. All these details are brought together by the red brick wall of the establishment.

TJ Zindle at Water Tower Distilling Co. – Aug. 20, 2025

Don't miss singer-songwriter TJ Zindle's performance at Water Tower Distilling Co. this Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m.! Originally from Buffalo, New York, Zindle writes and performs alternative rock songs with emotion and energy. Zindle's Spotify page describes his music as "[a] sonic explosion of spirited vocals, fiery electric guitars, and charged lyrics" that "instantly propels listeners into the Ann Arbor, Michigan singer-songwriter's realm."

EMU Women's Soccer vs. UIC – Aug. 21, 2025

Come support the EMU women's soccer team as they face off against the University of Illinois Chicago at Scicluna Field! This game will take place at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, and attendance is free.

Into Kho's Mind Art Gallery – Aug. 22, 2025

At this unique event on Friday, Aug. 22, attendees will have the chance to explore the artwork and creative process of talented artist Khourtnie Mayfield-Sanders. This event is not just a chance to enjoy art; it is an opportunity to see into the mind of an artist and develop a greater understanding of Kho's artistic process. 

The event will take place at Yours Truly Event Venue, located at 114 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti. Doors open at 6:25 p.m., and the event begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $12.51 per person and are available on Eventbrite.com. All ages are welcome.

WRAP Movie Night in the Park – Aug. 22, 2025

Looking for a way to spend some quality time with family during these last days of summer? Try this free movie night at Frog Island Park! At 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, WRAP Movie Night attendees can enjoy a free outdoor movie with free popcorn and drinks. This is a family-friendly event, and all ages are welcome.

90's Night at Ypsi Cocktail Club – Aug. 23, 2025

Time to break out those baggy 90s jeans and colorful bandanas. On Saturday, Aug. 23, DJ Eaze will be presenting a 90s dance party at the Ypsi Cocktail Club! From 7 to 10 p.m., attendees can dance to throwback tunes and even try 90s drinks and shots.

Women's Resource Center "Welcome Back Eagles" – Aug. 25, 2025

On Monday, Aug. 25, the Women's Resource Center invites all students to meet the WRC staff, explore resources and enjoy free food from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Student Center Suite 352. All students are welcome, and the event is free and approved for Learning Beyond the Classroom credit.

Allie Beecher

Allie Beecher uses she/her pronouns, and has worked for The Eastern Echo since August 2024. She started as a copy editor, then moved to Copy Desk Chief in the 2025 summer semester. Beecher is a junior double majoring in Business and Public Relations. 

Her job entails supervising The Echo’s copy editing team, ensuring all the content is error-free, and reviewing all work to make sure it follows AP style guidelines. For her, the best part is being able to use her skills to make a difference in the EMU and Ypsilanti community.
