Eastern Michigan University invites future Eagles to spend time on campus during an Oct. 25 open house called Explore Eastern.
Prospective students will be able to immerse themselves in EMU life for the day, exploring academic programs, student organizations and residence hall opportunities. They can also visit the recreation center and even attend a football game.
The open house runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 25, 2025, at the EMU Student Center, located at 900 Oakwood St. in Ypsilanti. The day includes campus tours, including visits to new on-campus apartments and residence halls.
Financial aid information and advisors will be available. Prospective students will also be able to explore scholarship opportunities and ways the university can connect students to internships. Moreover, they will be able to speak to academic advisors and even apply to the university during the event without an application fee.
Misty Sparrow, the associate director of admissions, visits and events at the university, said in a written statement that the open house will include a visit to the recently opened Windgate Arts Complex and free admission to the home football game.
Sparrow said past Explore Eastern events have drawn between 300 and 400 people, and as of mid-September, more than 450 were registered for this year's event.
"As an alumnus of EMU, the thing that drew me here, and has kept me here, is the passion and support the community has for our students," Sparrow said. "With each admissions event, it’s always my goal to ensure that students and families gain the knowledge and autonomy to make the best decision for them — and of course, we hope they choose E!"
The event is open to both first-year and transfer students. Those interested in participating can register for the open house on the university's Explore Eastern web pages.
