CircuitLab at Michigan Avenue — Dec. 27, 2025

Each month, the Michigan Avenue branch of the Ypsilanti District Library hosts a free simple circuit project event open to anyone eight years old or older. Each session explains simple circuit principles, and attendees can apply what they have learned by making a hands-on project. On Dec. 27, 2025, attendees will create light-up felt ornaments.

No registration is required, and the event will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. in Meeting Room 2 at the library's Michigan Avenue branch, which is located at 229 W. Michigan Ave.

Drop In D&D: 3-Day Campaign — Dec. 29-30, 2025, and Jan. 2, 2026

On Dec. 29, 2025, the Michigan Avenue branch of the Ypsilanti District Library will be kicking off a three-day Dungeons and Dragons campaign. This event is free and open to everyone. No registration is required.

The event description on the YDL's website states that on the first day, Dec. 29, participants will choose from a set of pre-made characters, then add a backstory and personal touches before starting the adventure. On the second day, Dec. 30, the adventurers will continue exploring and face off against a foe. The third day, Jan. 2, will conclude the adventure with a battle and some solved puzzles. 

The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. each day in the Program Room at the YDL's Michigan Avenue location, 229 W. Michigan Ave.

Zumba with Damilare — Dec. 29, 2025

Looking for a fun way to get moving? Try this Zumba class at the Mix Fitness Studios on Dec. 29, 2025, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The class will be led by guest instructor Damilare Adeyeri, a motivational speaker, performance coach, and dance and fitness instructor known as The Joy Activator.

The class will take place at the studio's 32 Harriet St. location in Ypsilanti. Participants do not need to bring anything except water.

To reserve a spot in the class, visit the Mix Fitness Studios' website, click "Schedule," then click "Book Here!" for the class you want. A one-time drop-in fee for a class is $28. For those interested in becoming regular studio clients, plan and membership prices vary.


Allie Beecher

Allie Beecher uses she/her pronouns and has worked for The Eastern Echo since August 2024. Beecher began as a copy editor and later became the copy desk chief during the summer of 2025. Beecher is a senior double-majoring in business and public relations. 

Beecher's job entails supervising The Echo’s copy editing team, ensuring content is error-free and reviewing all work to follow AP Style guidelines. For Beecher, the best part of her job is being able to use her skills to make a difference in the EMU and Ypsilanti communities.
