Woman injured but in stable condition after Ypsilanti shooting

During the early morning hours of May 1, 2026, the Ypsilanti Police Department responded to a complaint of a shooting.

At 1:03 a.m., the Ypsilanti Police Department responded to the incident, which occurred in the 800 block of Hilyard Robinson Way, Chief of Police Timothy Anderson said in a written statement. The area is near Harriet Street and Parkridge Community Center.

In the statement Anderson said, "Once on scene, YPD located a female victim complaining of injury from several gunshot wounds. YPD also located several spent shell casings in the area as well. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and is listed in stable condition. This investigation remains open and active, and we will have no further comment at this time.”
