Holy Bones Artisan Market to host 'magic, mystery, mischief'

On Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, from 1-7 p.m., Ypsilanti organization Holy Bones will present the Magic, Mystery, and Mischief Artisan Market at the Michigan Firehouse Museum.

Holy Bones began in 2019 as a festival and Halloween marketplace and now hosts recurring artisan markets in the community. The organization hosted many artisan markets at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse before moving to the Michigan Firehouse Museum at the beginning of 2026.

Holy Bones' upcoming event Oct. 4 centers on the themes of magic, mischief and mystery, according to the organization's website. The event will feature more than 60 independent artisans and creators showing their work on two floors of the museum.

Attendees can enjoy and purchase not just original artwork but also oddities, curiosities, handmade antiques, vintage clothing, collectible items and more, the Holy Bones website said. In a series of Instagram posts, the organization announced that creators at the event will include not only visual artists but also horror and speculative fiction author Peggy Christie, Ypsilanti-based henna artist Shahrin, Michigan cartoonist Ransom McCarthy, and others.

Admission is free and open to the public. To learn more, visit the Holy Bones website, follow the organization on Instagram @holybonesfestival, or find Holy Bones on Facebook.
