There was plenty to celebrate at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) Saturday, Dec. 15, as the graduating class of fall 2018 proceeded with commencements at the Convocation Center.
Spotted earlier today by a reporter for the Eastern Echo, one of the walls in the Free Speech Space reads “it’s okay to be white.” The message comes a week after a statement condemning anti-semitism was tampered with on the same wall.

The Student Senate met Tuesday to hold their final general meeting of the semester. Although drama reigned over the political process, all the Senators were present to pass two new resolutions.

Dr. Robert Turner hosted a discussion and book signing at Eastern Michigan University Wednesday, Nov. 28, for his newly released book, “Not For Long,” which showcases the shared experiences and obstacles NFL players face while playing and when their athletic career ends.

As the Department of World Languages celebrates International Education week, Eastern Michigan University’s Spanish Club commemorated the occasion with their event Noche de Carerra, Monday Nov. 12 in the student center.
Before dismissing for Thanksgiving recess, the Student Senate announced the passing of three resolutions during their biweekly meeting held in the Student Center.
News Anchor Josh Landon visited Sponberg Auditorium on Wednesday to give advice to future journalists. Landon, an anchor for Fox 2 News, talked about his journey to his current job and answered questions from student journalists and broadcasters. Landon, an EMU graduate, shared his enthusiasm and knowledge with students.

Despite the rain, citizens gathered at the Eastern Michigan University (EMU) Honors College from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. to cast their votes in the midterm elections Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Senator Debbie Stabenow attended Eastern Michigan University (EMU) on Monday, Oct. 29 on her “Made in Michigan” tour, a campaign where she highlights the efforts of people and businesses; an initiative to forecast her goals of bettering and growing Michigan, as well as an opportunity to inspire citizens to exercise their right to vote.
The major proposals on the ballot for the upcoming midterm elections were discussed among students at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) with the help of the League of Women’s Voters and Engage EMU.
