Raury, a multi-genre 24 year old musical artist from Atlanta, recently released a single titled “Take Back The Power.” As America limps through the ongoing global pandemic and has a light shone on institutionalized racism, there’s more and more hurt to go around every day. While it is easy to wallow in these times, and let them drown you, there are better ways to react. Singer and rapper Raury Tullis (known professionally as Raury) provides a beautiful example of a better way to react- take back the power.

About a month ago, I was on the phone with my best friend and she said “You need to watch this movie ‘365 DNI’.” At the time, the Polish/Italian film was yet to reach Netflix, but has since been added to the popular streaming service. Preceding its more widespread release, I’ve seen tons of posts about the movie and tons of girls gushing over the main character's attractiveness.

During the global pandemic, Charli XCX decided she was going to write, record, and release a new album all in a matter of 6 weeks. The result was an album titled “how i’m feeling now”. Being that it was a creative project finished in just 6 weeks, all the songs do truly represent how Charli’s “feeling now”.

Although its title seems to imply the main focus of this show would be drug-related, this new Netflix series is way more than that. White Lines includes themes from friendship and romance to mystery and murder, all of which make for an intriguing program that lures you in, and keeps you watching.

Half of the fun of watching the finales of “American Idol” and “The Voice” is that they are a spectacle full of glamour and comradery. But since our country is in quarantine, these shows are being done from home. Even though the shows did the best they could do under the circumstances, I was left longing for the finales from seasons’ past.

A few days ago, Bob Dylan released a single titled False Prophets. In the last month and a half he’d also released two other singles - A Murder Most Foul and I Contain Multitudes. Kali Uchis released “TO FEEL ALIVE,” a four-song EP on Friday, April 24, via Interscope Records. This is Uchis’ first release since her debut album “Isolation,” which came out just over two years ago. She recorded all four songs in her house while self isolating during the coronavirus pandemic. In just over 10 minutes, Uchis walks the listener through an unpredictable romantic relationship, discussing themes such as arguing, drug use, selfishness, and finally, burned bridges.

During my time scrolling through Hulu looking for yet another movie or show to watch while bored in the house, I stumbled across something I had never heard of before and decided to begin watching it. As the first few episodes of the FX show played, I honestly didn’t pay too much attention. After finishing the series just days later, it is now one of my favorites of all time.
