When I was a kid, Halloween meant trick-or-treating with my brothers and sometimes some other neighborhood kids. We would dress up and hop in a van, and while driving from one location to the next, we would compare our loot. One neighbor always handed out homemade popcorn balls. Packets of Skittles, Smarties, and M&M’s would disappear into our tummies between houses. The older kids would try to convince me that one of my Milky Ways was worth two Tootsie Rolls. Another year there was a fierce competition for who could get the most Butterfingers. I didn’t care – the candy I most wanted were Snickers.
I love Halloween. Not so much for the costumes, but for the candy, the Devil’s Night pranks and in anticipation of what the girls’ costumes will look like. Who doesn’t love curling up with some apple cider with a splash of vodka, and watching “Friday the 13th”? The energy is really dope though and it has me thinking of some great horror themed hip-hip songs. So here we go, without further ado, my top 10 hip-hop songs for Halloween.

Gather ‘round the metaphorical campfire and I’ll tell you a story, alright? But I’m willing to bet you’ve never heard of the Echo ghost.
It has become normal to see sexy Halloween costumes, particularly for those of the female gender. Some women zip into go-go boots and mini skirts regardless of the temperatures in the Mitten state. But this pumpkin season, there seems to be more oversexualized costumes for women than usual. Yandy.com and PartyCity.com have come out with many Halloween costumes that have stirred some controversy on the topic of if there is a line that can be crossed when it comes to being too sexy.
There are several types of horror films. There are the ones that you forget and confuse with others of the genre, and the ones that you remember. Then there are the ones that make you uneasy when you go to sleep that night or have you watching through your fingers.
Every year Halloween brings around new creepy television shows, scary movies and eerie music. But there are some classics that come to mind every Halloween no matter how old they are that bring on the full-blown nostalgia.
With all of the disposable rubbish that comes out of Hollywood, it’s a breath of fresh air when a good movie is released. It’s so unfortunate that the film industry has had the stink of the comic book genre linger on the business for years now. It would seem that a lot of the movies that get greenlit nowadays are the results of overeducated agents, ne’er-do-well producers and excessive cocaine use. But all of those bad feelings were purged upon one screening of “The Counselor.”
“Phantom Lady” by Cornell Woolrich is a murder mystery full of suspense, horror and psychological twists and turns. The novel follows the story of Scott Henderson, who has been accused and convicted of murdering his wife. The problem with this is that he didn’t do it. Henderson now has to convince the authorities, his friends and his mistress that he is innocent with a looming execution date hanging over his head.
Halloween is a time for expressing yourself, dressing up and having fun. This year, many college students aren’t shying away from wearing costumes that will get their peers talking. But because of this, colleges have something new to be concerned about.
When it comes to dressing up for Halloween, the little details such as hair and makeup can be overlooked. Small details like these hold the key to a cool, fun look even if you don’t have the time or money for a full costume. Chances are you already have the supplies you need for these easy but high-impact finishing touches.
A 17-year-old girl taunted and tormented by her peers possesses the ability to make terrible things happen with her thoughts. A cruel prank turned a magical night at the prom into a literal bloodbath. This is the story of “Carrie.”

I’ve been so busy listening to new albums and preparing for list season that I haven’t put any articles up recently. So, here are ten reviews that I’ve managed to find time to write. Nine of these albums are worth checking out, and one is worth avoiding at all costs.
On October 17th, I Am P.I.N.K. hosted a Dine and Donate at the Tower Inn in Ypsilanti. Imagine having no identity – no sense of self, gender, race or even a name. In David Levithan’s novel “Every Day” that’s what the main character, simply known as A, has to experience. Every day of A’s life is lived differently, in somebody else’s body.

Ever since I was a little kid, I have been enchanted by modeling clay. I’ve always enjoyed working with the soft, squeezable texture and the possibility to make anything with a few shapes. A quick glance at the jewelry racks at stores like Icing and Claire’s reveals that cute and soft clay-molded critters and shapes are not just for preschoolers.
