Campus Minor damage occurred in the ground floor restroom of Halle Library around 12:10 a.m. on Monday A theft occurred at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday in Bowen Field House when a concessions banner was stolen. Tires were damaged around 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the North Campus Lot. Two subjects were observed fighting at 5:39 p.m on Tuesday in front of the Eateries. A trespassing subject was discovered on campus at 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday in Wise Hall. A false fire alarm occurred at 6:36 p.m on Tuesday in the Student Center .

This past Thursday Mark C. Carnes, a professor of history at Barnard College in New York delivered the third part of his lecture series “Rethink Higher Education.” In this lecture, entitled “Why History Textbooks (Including My Own) Don’t Get It,” Carnes questioned the use and effectiveness of textbooks in classrooms.
This fall, the number of non-immigrant students enrolled at Eastern Michigan University is slightly down from fall 2009.
Campus:
The Eastern Michigan University Department of Geography and Geology along with the Southeast Michigan Heritage Tourism Alliance will hold the first Southeast Michigan geotourism conference this Thursday in the Student Center Ballroom to explore unique tourism opportunities in Michigan.
A discussion took place this past Thursday in the Student Center to address the controversy over the Supreme Court’s ruling in the case Citizen’s United v. Federal Election Commission.
Campus:
Human rights activist Father Jesús Alberto Franco spoke Tuesday in McKenny Union Hall about the conflict in Columbia, his native country. Franco is executive secretary of Columbia’s Inter-church Justice and Peace Commission as well as a priest.

A discussion panel entitled American Indians: Stories of Their Experiences in the U. S. Military took place this Tuesday as part of Native American Heritage Month at Eastern Michigan University. The six panelists, members of the Native American Veterans Association of Southeast Michigan, spoke about their time in the military.
