The Eastern Michigan University Men's basketball team upset the University of Michigan 45-42 at the Crisler Center Tuesday night, boosting their record to 8-1. This is the fist time the Eagles have defeated the Wolverines since 1997. The victory marks EMU’s second big win against a Big Ten Conference team while having Rob Murphy as coach. Eastern started weak in the first half, with Michigan up 10-0 at the halfway mark. Eventually, Eastern found its way back in the game, ending the first half trailing by only two points, 21-19. As the second half began, Eastern clawed its way into the lead, improving off of their first half mistakes. The Eagles found their groove with a 9-0 run in the second half. Guard Mike Tally sank two free throws to push Eastern to its biggest lead of the night. Michigan answered back, cutting Eastern’s 9-0 run and resulting in a tied game with 40 even.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles rolled over the Madonna Crusaders Tuesday night, beating the Crusaders 68-88 at the Convocation Center. This game marks the fifth straight win for the Eagles in the Convocation Center, leaving them undefeated at home.

Eastern Michigan redshirt sophomore Ray Lee was named Mid-American Conference player of the week. This is the second time that Lee has won this honor. Lee averaged 19.8 points in the past four games including a 25 point performance against UNC-Greensboro Saturday night at the Convocation Center. In the EMU Showcase Tournament this weekend, Lee shot 85% from three point range and 60% overall from the field.
