Relay for Life provides hope

“If you haven’t had cancer touch your life, it will,” Kaitlynn Brang, a junior at EMU majoring in secondary education, said. Brang said those words with sincerity because it has directly touched her own life.

Benito's aims to please EMU

While some believe the heart of a college campus is in the library, the classroom or the athletic field, others might argue the hub of EMU’s student community lies in the local pizza place. Former marine, business owner and restaurant manager Randy Bone breathed new life into the Benito’s family pizza business in May of last year.

Courses on film studies, electronic media

Students don’t necessarily have to be Electronic Media majors or minors to want to study film. For those interested in learning more about film, the Department of Communication, Media and Theatre Arts here at Eastern Michigan University, offers a plethora of classes for just that. The first class as an art elective and is one of the most well known film courses, “Introduction to Film Appreciation” or CTAT 145.





'Crossroads' to display passion

“As dancers we live, eat, sleep and breathe [dance] every day. And even when we think we hate it, we love it because it is completely part of who we are, who we’ve been and who we are working so hard every day to become,” Eastern Michigan University senior dance major Elizabeth Hynes said.

As soon as I was old enough to say the word, my mother sat me down and told me I was adopted. I was six years old and I remembered my mother reading me age-appropriate books about what it meant to be adopted.

Before entering college, it’s probable everyone has gotten the same bit of advice. “The medical field is only growing, if you become a nurse, you’ll definitely get a job.” The College of Health and Human Services is a booming program at Eastern Michigan University, with programs growing rapidly.
