On Oct. 27 a Wellness Fair took place on the third floor of the Eastern Michigan University Rec/IM. Set up by Eric Ward, the Health Education and Wellness Coordinator for EMU, the wellness fair was designed around eight health aspects; social, physical, occupational, spiritual, financial, emotional, intellectual and environmental health.
From the old-time feel of the concert hall to the diverse crowd of young and old, the Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor was the ideal setting to host a legend such as Bob Dylan and His Band on another leg of his “Never Ending Tour.”
But when you think about dodge ball you probably don’t think of people playing intense, high-speed and out-for-blood games. There is an actual Dodge Ball Club right here at Eastern Michigan University that travels to different states and schools to compete.
As you walk in the door of the Eastern Michigan University art gallery, there is a noticeable change from the norm. Instead of canvases lining the walls and sculptures placed on pedestals, quilts, tapestries and artfully sculpted yarns decorate the space.
A visitor, thinking he or she is simply going to look at art at the New Faculty Exhibition, will be confronted with a different kind of experience. The exhibit will be hanging in the Ford Gallery located inside Eastern Michigan University’s Ford Hall until Nov. 10. It features four of the newest faculty members of EMU’s art department: Jason DeMarte, Jason Ferguson, Brian Spolans and Gregory Tom.
