Student Senate opposes House Bill restricting Bridge Cards

The Eastern Michigan University Student Senate resolved to oppose Michigan House Bill No. 4165, which aims to restrict certain college students from receiving government food assistance, and appointed a new Election Commissioner at a meeting Tuesday.

It’s reasonable to say this season has been disappointing for Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball . After finishing 17-15 last year, the team recorded its first winning season under sixth-year coach Charles Ramsey. Many were expecting the program to continue to improve. Instead, the Eagles have taken a step back this season.

Eastern Michigan University’s fifth Chinese Week kicks off Sunday with their annual gala performance. The gala will be from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Student Center Auditorium, with a reception following. The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team placed fourth (188.975) in the annual Redbird Quad Tournament Sunday hosted by second place finisher Illinois State University (192.025). MAC-rival Central Michigan University was also there and placed first (193.375), with University of Chicago-Illinois (189.975) , taking third.
