EMU baseball downs Western Michigan over weekend to capture series win, 2-1

The series was originally scheduled to run all three days of the weekend with the Eagles and Broncos facing off once for each day, but snowy conditions on Friday, March 22, caused the first game to get postponed to Sunday.

Six Eagles top five different track and field events in Clyde Hart Classic

Eagle athletes went on to place in the top five in numerous events, including Gabriel Singh (Toledo, Ohio) in the 400m hurdles, Ryan Johnson (Springboro, Ohio) and Jake McEarchern (Lloydminster, Alberta) in the hammer throw, Alex Thompson (St. Catherine, Jamaica) in the long jump, and Mariia Yelanska (Dnipro, Ukraine) and Kyra Buffen (Columbus, Ga.) in the Triple Jump.

May takes the job just hours after his eighth-seeded Florida Atlantic University team suffered a loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Northwestern on Saturday, March 23. FAU finished the 2023-24 season with a record of 25-9. 

EMU Baseball dominates Michigan in season home opener, 14-4

The last time the two Universities of Washtenaw County met was during the 2019 season on May 8, where the Eagles fell to the Wolverines, 12-5. That same season, Michigan was one win away from being the College World Series Champions.

With this win the Eagles, marked their first home win of the season and improved their record to 3-3, while Butler endured another setback, dropping to 1-7. The Eagles ignited the match with an explosive start, notching nine consecutive goals.

EMU Baseball takes two out of three from Ball State on the road to open up Mid-American Conference Play

The Eagles won an offensive-exploding game for both teams on Friday, 10-9, followed by a pitcher-dominated 6-2 win on Saturday, and losing on Sunday in yet another offensive shootout by a score of 11-8.

Eastern Michigan football set to kickoff 2024 season with spring practice starting Monday, March 11

The Eagles will complete a five-week practice period that includes 15 practice dates as they will hit the field three times per week. It will end with the program's annual spring game, which is scheduled for Friday, April 12.

The Eagles concluded the 2023-24 campaign with a 7-22 overall record and a 3-15 conference record. 

Eastern Michigan men's hoops falls to rival Central Michigan in OT, 65-62; Eagles conclude 2023-24 season with 13-18 overall record

The Eagles finish the 2023-24 season with an overall record of 13-18 while going 6-12 through Mid-American Conference play. EMU has now failed to qualify for the MAC Tournament for four straight seasons. Head coach Stan Heath closes out his third season at the helm of the Eagles with a 31-61 record.

EMU is still in the middle of a road trip, yet to play a game in conference play, the Eagles will open up the conference schedule when it takes on Ball State on the road on March 8. They sit in a tie for ninth place in the non-conference standings heading into conference play.

Eastern Michigan hoops stuns MAC's top ranked Akron in final seconds, 61-60

Entering the matchup, Akron was on a 16-game winning streak at home. As the Eagles held Akron to just 60 points, EMU is now 12-2 on the season when holding its opponent to just 71 points or less. 

EMU women's basketball loses fifth consecutive to Ball State, 75-47

The Eagles now sit at 6-21 overall on the season and 2-14 in Mid-American Conference play while Ball State improves to 25-4 on the year and 14-2 through conference play.

EMU men's hoops falls to Miami on Senior Day, 52-37; Eagles eliminated from MAC Tournament contention

With the loss and a win from Kent State University against Central Michigan University, the Eagles have officially been eliminated from MAC Tournament contention. 

EMU edges rival Western Michigan in nail-biting 70-67 victory

With the win, the MAC tournament hopes are still alive for the Eagles as they sit in 10th place in the MAC rankings and just two games behind the Broncos, who are now in the eighth place of the MAC rankings, the final spot of the MAC tournament. 

Paige Marchant becomes MAC royalty as EMU women's track and field captures 2024 MAC Indoor Championship

Marchant took home three gold titles, MAC Freshman of the Year, and Most Valuable Performer after her wins in the 800m, mile run, and 3,000m run. The Eagles have now captured back-to-back Mid-American Conference titles and its 93rd in program history.

The Mid-American Conference Tournament door remains open for the Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team as they currently sit in 10th place in the MAC rankings and just two games behind Kent State University, as they sit in the eighth and final spot of the MAC tournament.
