EMU Swim: Reflection on a Perfect Season

 The Eastern Michigan University women’s swim and dive team finished its dual meet season with a win over Albion College on Feb. 1. The win ensured that the team would finish with an undefeated record in dual meets for the season, going 8-0.

The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving team had an all-around impressive performance in route to 152-74 over Division III school Albion College Friday night at Jones Natatorium.

EMU Women’s Basketball Loses Late to Northern Illinois

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team lost to Northern Illinois University, 68-65 in overtime, at the Convocation Center on Feb. 2, to fall to 10-9 on the year. Redshirt senior Danielle Minott had a team-high of 22 points in the loss.

EMU Gymnastics Team slips by Bowling Green

The Eastern Michigan University women’s gymnastics team earned a hard-fought victory with a 194.150-193.775 on the road against Bowling Green State University on Jan. 31. The game was moved from the Convocation Center to Anderson Arena due to the weather in Ypsilanti.

Eagles fall despite Minott’s 21 points

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team dropped their most recent outing on the road against rival Central Michigan University, 71-61, inside of McGuirk Arena in Mount Pleasant on Jan. 26. Redshirt senior Danielle Minott led Eastern Michigan with 21 points.

New Coach, New Results?

James Patton was named the new offensive line coach for the Eastern Michigan football team by head coach Chris Creighton on Jan. 16, and that should have fans, myself included, very excited. Patton was the offensive quality control assistant for the University of Pittsburgh the past two seasons.

Women's Basketball Defeats Akron, 72-60

EMU women’s basketball participated in a conference matchup against the Akron Zips on Wednesday after coming off a win in a previous game against Western Michigan. EMU was looking for their second-straight MAC win of the season. The Eagles sought to do so all while being short-handed by having only eight players suit up. The Eagles still managed to pick up a win on the road, pushing their record to 9-6 with a final score of 72-60.

Eagles Soar to Victory Behind Minnie and Thompson IV

James Thompson IV and Elijah Minnie combined for 40 points as Eastern Michigan men’s basketball delivered a decisive 95-61 victory to Kent State. The Eagles struggled in the first half, only attempting one free throw and three offensive rebounds. Going into halftime, they led by eight with Thompson shooting 100 percent from both three inside the arc.

EMU Women’s Basketball Falls to UB in Overtime

The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team competed in a conference matchup against the University of Buffalo at the Convocation Center on Wednesday. The game resulted in a 91-84 overtime loss for the Eagles. This is the team's second Mid-American loss, which pushes their overall record to 7-6.
