Eagles downed by late Titans goal

The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team was defeated 1-0 by the University of Detroit-Mercy on Thursday afternoon, after a goal was scored in the 89th minute by the Titans. The Eagles (2-4-1) were incapable of capitalizing on multiple scoring chances throughout the game, which allowed the Titans (3-4) to keep the game level until the closing seconds of the match where they took advantage of a free kick to hand the Eagles their fourth loss of the season.



Hill signs with Bears practice squad

Former Eastern Michigan running back Bronson Hill, one week removed from being cut from the Buffalo Bills, is back in the National Football League after signing to the Chicago Bears practice squad.

Nason scores two in 3-1 defeat of UIC

Redshirt freshman Kristin Nason scored two goals against the University of Illinois-Chicago on Sunday afternoon in Ypsilanti where the Eagles were victorious in the team’s home opener for the 2015-2016 season. The Sunday afternoon bout was the first to be played at Scicluna Field this season, where Nason has been red-hot dating back to preseason exhibition matches in July.

What was a strong start for the Eastern Michigan football team ended with a slow finish for the Eagles, as they fell to Old Dominion 38-34 to open the regular season at Rynearson Stadium.

Eastern Michigan football has seen plenty of recent struggles as a program, particularly on defense. Last season, saw a third consecutive 2-10 finish in which the defense averaged 41 points per game allowed. Despite that, there were bright-spots on the defense, primarily coming from the linebacking corps.

EMU Soccer outlasts Loyola-Chicago to record first win on season

Senior Megan Trapp scored the Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer teams’ lone goal Sunday when the Eagles traveled to Chicago and defeated Loyola-Chicago 1-0. The match was a part of the Loyola Invitational in Chicago, Ill., where the Eagles (1-3) were trampled 7-0 earlier in the weekend by a ranked DePaul University.




Women's basketball schedule: games against Michigan, Kentucky and Ohio

Earlier this evening the Mid-American Conference released schedules for both men’s and women’s basketball teams for the 2015-2016 seasons. Notable non-conference games include traveling to the University of Kentucky, Harvard and Detroit. In-conference road trips to Bowling Green, Northern Illinois, and University of Toledo.


Tuttle finds "family atmosphere" with Eagles

Eastern Michigan tight end Cody Tuttle has spent the past three years trying to find the right fit for himself. He wanted to find a family atmosphere and that is exactly what he saw in coach Chris Creighton and his staff.
