Brewery and improv come together at the Pointless Brewery and Theatre

Beer and improvisational theatre lovers in the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area can soon enjoy a space that combines both. Eastern Michigan University Alumni, Tori and Jason Tomalia, will open Pointless Brewery and Theatre, 3014 Packard Road, Ann Arbor, this summer. Tori said the population in the area appreciates the “mind-set” of theater and craft beer. “[Improv theater is] super creative and really fresh and sort of instantaneous,”she said.







Ypsi city council swears in new mayor

The citizens of Ypsilanti have elected a new mayor. Amanda Maria Edmonds, founder and executive director of Growing Hope, located at 922 West Michigan Avenue, was sworn into office at the Nov.


A new way of doing bike repair

If your bike’s broken, take it to a bike shop. If you don’t have time to take it to a bike shop, call Ray Martell. Martell has an unconventional way of providing bicycle repairs to the city of Ypsilanti.

Final arguments begin in trial of Ed Thomas

The final arguments for the trial of Ed Thomas in the murder of EMU wide receiver Demarius Reed started at 8:30, Monday. Thomas is accused of felony murder or assisting in murder, as well as armed robbery. Nimish Gantra, assistant prosecuting attorney for Washtenaw County began the closing arguments.


Ypsilanti Officials Work for a Safer Community

Washtenaw County officials will formally cooperate to provide a safer Ypsilanti community with the announcement of the Eastern Washtenaw Safety Alliance (EWSA), the parties announced Tuesday. According to Eastern Michigan University’s website, EWSA is a coalition of top area officials and law enforcement leaders spearheaded by State Rep.

City council discusses budget, Water Street

Thursday’s meeting of the Ypsilanti City Council included its yearly budget report by City Manager Ralph Lange, Director of the Downtown Development Authority Tim Colbeck and Fire Chief Max Anthouard. Mayor Pro Tem Lois Richardson presided in Mayor Paul Schreiber’s absence.
