Turn it up: The Strokes – Angles (RCA) After reading a bunch of negative reviews of the Strokes’ latest album, Angles, it was something I had to check out for myself.
Turn it Up – Rebecca Black – “Friday” It’s the greatest single since “Good Vibrations.” Never has an artist captured the imagination and spirit of an entire generation like Rebecca Black has with “Friday,” bringing themes to the public eye like “fun” and “partying.” Not only has she accomplished all of this in a pop song you can’t resist, she’s done it all so artfully by mimicking a robot – thus making a profound statement about how we rely on technology for said “fun” and “partying.” And we need it to know what day comes after Thursday.
Turn it up: Tyler, the Creator – “Yonkers” After listening to Tyler, the Creator’s “Yonkers,” I don’t know if I should clap the guy on the back or get him another therapist.
Turn it up – TV on the Radio – “Will Do” (Interscope/4AD) A lot is happening for Brooklyn’s TV on the Radio.
Turn it up – Explosions in the Sky, “Trembling Hands” (Single, Temporary Residence) Texas’ post-rock visionaries Explosions in the Sky’s “Trembling Hands,” opens to the sound of something the band’s fans aren’t accustomed to hearing: a voice.
Turn it up: Radiohead – The King of Limbs (TBD) In the past week, Radiohead’s been pretty busy dropping bomb after bomb on their fans and critics.
Turn it Up – The Strokes – “Under Cover of Darkness” (Single) The Strokes — the kings of “I swore it was still the ‘70s” — are back with their new single, “Under Cover of Darkness” from the upcoming album Angles.

With this new change to the single “Roman’s Revenge,” Minaj is now standing tall with an awesome new take on an already great song.
