Drew Saunders, journalism major at Eastern Michigan University, has written and published his very own novel, Hasan. Hasan is a fictional story of a 15-year-old boy braving the difficulties of the Middle East’s Civil War by himself and whilst caring for his younger siblings.

Kaki King to bring adventurous new album to The Ark

Kaki King may be the next big thing when it comes to the way the six-string guitar is played. She scored “Into the Wild,” collaborated with Dave Grohl on a Foo Fighters song, was nominated for a Golden Globe and with her fifth album, “Junior,” King feels like she’s starting all over again. “I almost felt like I was making my first album,” King said.

'Where The Wild Things Are' a less than magical world

On Tuesday night the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor hosted a special pre-release screening of “Where the Wild Things Are,” with all proceeds going to the non-profit writing and tutoring organization 826 Michigan.Before the screening there was a Q&A with the film’s screenwriter Dave Eggers, best known as the editor of “The Best American Nonrequired Reading” series.

Jay-Z tickets on sale

Student tickets for Jay-Z’s Oct. 21 show at EMU’s Convocation Center went on sale yesterday. Though the tickets were scheduled to go on sale at 10 a.m., a line of fans eager to secure their spot began forming outside the ticket office even earlier.

Julez DeShetler and Queso Tone catch up after a short hiatus due to illness and someones birthday. The pair talk about their semesters and the final big events of the year, the Eastern Echo Media Gala and Rock The Patio. The latter playing host to Eagletainment's very own Queso Tone as a musical performance, with the shows closing act Anthony Roperti a former guest of the show.
