Do you know your vagina?

It should go without saying that we all should know our bodies and how it functions. Seems simple enough yet, there’s still a level of embarrassment or even shame that causes people to whisper at the simple mention of the word vagina. Yes, even in the 21st century, society still writes off the most natural and complex part of the female body as weird, unclean, or disgusting.

EMU transitions to a tobacco-free campus

Eastern Michigan University recently adopted a tobacco-free campus policy. The Board of Regents voted to pass this policy Friday afternoon at their winter regular meeting. The tobacco-free policy is to move toward supporting a healthier learning, living and work environment for the EMU campus.

Sisterhood Alliance presents Soul Speak

Every Thursday, the Sisterhood Alliance presents Soul Speak in the Student Center from 2 to 3:30 pm in the Kiva Room. Soul Speak is a place for women in minorities to have a safe place to speak on day-to-day issues or have that necessary girl chat to ease their mind. This group is open to the public and completely free.

Snow Health offers SAD treatments

As it gets closer and closer to the winter solstice, the amount of darkness that we have to endure is disheartening. As if it’s not enough that those who wake up before 8 a.m. are waking up to complete darkness, and by the time their day is done at 5 p.m., it’s once again pitch black outside.
