Latin Night

Latin Night at the Student Center was full of fun, dancing, music, and culture. The event was put on by the Latino Student Association (LSA) and the Center of Multicultural Affairs as a way to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage month (Sept. 15 to Oct. 15) . The night was also to educate students on campus and introduce them to Latin heritage. Latin Night was formerly called Salsa Night and the name was changed this year to represent the various Latino cultures represented.

“Latin Night is built to to teach people about the various parts of the Latin culture, from dancing to music,” said, Jasmine Reynoso, President of the Latino Student Association, “I have a personal connection to this night and what it represents, and I hope students leave with a similar feeling.”

Latin Night included a large amount of entertainment for everyone involved. The night consisted of live music and salsa dance lessons. sto presentation about the very rich history of Latino Culture.

“It’s always a lot of fun. This event has one of our heaviest attendances and attendees always leave with a great experience,” said Daizchane Baker, LSA Marketing Manager.

The Latino Student Association has been doing this for a number of years, and it always brings a large crowd of eager students ready to learn and have fun.

“It’s just been a ton of fun!” said Jessica Bramer, EMU student, “It was a night of information and learning, but while also being a great, really enjoyable time.
