The Flight Team, a group of artists based in Washtenaw County, is hosting a benefit concert for Toys for Tots at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15.

This is the benefit concert and toy drive's third-year celebration after beginning the tradition in 2020.

“We started the toy drive as a way to give back to people in our community. It started during COVID because we noticed how impacted people were and we just wanted to be able to help out and alleviate some of that holiday stress,” Dre Dav, artist in the music collective, The Flight Team, said.

All toys donated to the drive need to be new, in original packaging and valued at $20 or under. Toys for Tots does not allow any stuffed animals or any toys that may be looked at as a weapon.

Anyone who can’t attend the benefit concert but wishes to donate a toy will be able to drop the toy off at a donation box located at one of the following four local businesses: MAIZ, Ziggy’s, Suite 328 Recording Studio, or York Yard.

“Our goal with the toy drive is to help as many people as possible and to bring a little holiday joy to the community that has been so great to us over the years,“ Dav said. "The two previous years were very successful. We received an overwhelming amount of donations and are on track to do the same this year.”

If you want to attend the concert without purchasing a toy, tickets will be available for $10. The doors for the concert will open at 7 p.m. on the night of the show.

Tickets will be available to purchase at the door, as well as ahead of time on Ticket Web.
