One Bowl of Ramen at a Time — Tuesday, May 20, 2025

Growing Hope Urban Farm opens its doors Tuesday for foodies to enjoy an evening of education, tasty cuisine and fun.

Called “Fighting Food Insecurity: One Bowl of Ramen at a Time," the event is hosted by Growing Hope's Teen Leadership Program and the Washtenaw County Youth Commission.

From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., guests can enjoy a ramen cooking class and interactive games, including a scavenger hunt. Growing Hope Urban Farm is at 922 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti. Admission is free with an option to register online through the Eventbrite website. 

A Movie in the Park in Ypsilanti — Saturday, May 24, 2025

Holistic Therapy & Wellness Children, Adults, and Families, an organization that focuses on relaxation and therapy, invites families and friends to spend Saturday afternoon practicing relaxation and watching a movie. 

The event starts at noon, with the movie screening at 3 p.m. at the organization's offices, 813 East Michigan Ave. No. 201 in Ypsilanti. Doors open at 11:50 a.m. 

The fun starts with a mindful movement program at noon followed by open play from 1 to 3 p.m. The movie “Inside Out 2" will also be shown outside on the lawn.

Variety Show — Saturday, May 24, 2025

Ziggy's, a coffee shop that turns into a dance bar at night, hosts the 5th Annual Queeraoke Ypsi Pride Fundraiser: Variety Show on Saturday.

The event, which begins at 6 p.m. and ends at midnight, is open to all and celebrates the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. In addition to fun dancing, the evening includes live vocal performances, standup comedy, and drag storytelling.

Free Math Learning Lab — Monday, May 26, 2025

For anyone 16 or older looking to learn or practice math skills, local nonprofit Washtenaw Literacy is hosting a Math Learning Lab event Monday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Washtenaw Literacy is dedicated to helping adult learners in Washtenaw County.

Attendance at the math lab is free, and anyone 16 or older is welcome to walk into the Ypsilanti District Library's Whittaker Branch for some assistance during the math lab hours.

For those unable to attend the Math Learning Lab on May 26, Washtenaw Literacy also offers it on several other dates. In addition to math assistance, the organization offers free English as a Second Language and digital skills learning experiences.
