Eagle One Card changes coming July for students

In an email sent to Eastern Michigan University students June 4, 2026, Eagle Card Services announced changes will be made to the student ID cards.

Previously, student IDs were combined with BankMobile checking account debit cards and were printed by BankMobile Technologies. Students had to wait for their ID in the mail, but soon students will no longer have to wait.

However, if a student's photo is taken prior to June 30, 2026, their ID card will be mailed to them by BankMobile.

Starting July 2026, student IDs will be printed on campus, the email stated. Students can have their photos taken and their IDs printed right at Service EMU in the Student Center. Eagle Card Services at Service EMU is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The email stated that students who have an existing student ID issued by BankMobile can continue to use their card as usual until they need a replacement. For those who have a BankMobile checking account and are in need of a new debit card or a replacement debit card, they will need to request a generic BankMobile debit card and get a separate student ID card from Service EMU.

The email said the new student ID cards will allow students to:

  • Check out books and resources at the Halle Library
  • Enter the Rec/IM
  • Access their meal plan at dining locations and convenience stores
  • Access their residence hall building
  • Enter EMU home athletic events

The new student ID cards will not:

  •  Act as a debit card for the BankMobile checking account

EMU will continue to process all refunds and student payroll through BankMobile, the email stated.

In the past, students were required to wait until they received their personal code along with their ID card to set their refund and payroll preferences. However, students will soon be able to set up their preferences using their phone number and not need to wait.

Further information can be found at the EagleCard website.  For any other questions or concerns, please contact Student Business Services at ebill@emich.edu or call 734-487-1219.
