I have always loved Netflix. I think the company is one of the greatest technological success stories in history. They came from nowhere, with a totally new and unproven business model and became a revolutionary, multi-billion dollar, publicly traded company. It seems like they’ve lost some of their mojo recently, but overall, they’re still riding high.

When you think of the thousands of products made in Michigan, you probably think about crisp, fresh apples in the fall; plump, red strawberries in the spring and some of the best automobiles in the world.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions from readers asking for advice. I’ve compiled a few of them here for you. If you have a question for me, email me: Jerome@LTASEX.INFO.

“Is it cool to wait? Should I feel bad because I don’t want to have sex yet?”*

Are you feeling the pinch of Netflix’s recent price hikes? Netflix feels your pain. Well, they feel its own pain as customers are dumping the service by the millions.

There’s nothing to do on campus!!!

“Why the heck do we need to talk about sex?” asked a spunky, conservative Christian woman of about 19 with a smug and triumphant smirk.

e Wall Street Journal, Amazon.com might be prepping an eBook rental service.
Most avid Amazon.com shoppers are aware of their Prime service. It is a premium service whose main benefits are free two-day shipping and discounted expedited shipping on thousands of items sold in their online store.
In the past few years, Amazon added quite a few features to make its $79-per-year service much more enticing. These add-ons include video streaming as well as sporadic coupons and discounts. This eBook rental service, which has been dubbed Amazon Kindle Library, would be another free add-on.
The idea is customers would pay their annual fee and get access to all of the streaming and rental content.
This sort of tactic is from the Amazon ‘business 101’ textbook. Amazon has a long history of offering items for free or at a loss as a way to increase the likelihood of a customer returning to the site. The tactic must be working, as Amazon is the most popular and profitable online retailer by a large margin.

When I began writing LTASEX almost two years ago, I decided my long-term goal would be to rehabilitate America’s relationship with sexuality. Ever since, I have done my best to push forward toward that goal.

When most people think about college culture, they usually picture this dichotomy of stuffy academia that’s at odds with the free-spirited blind optimism of young students. This is mostly true, but there is plenty of gray area between the two. It’s in this gray space you find some of the more interesting and comical majors, minors and classes universities offer.

At “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” songs were sung, dances were danced and words were spelled. It was a wonderful place where we learned all sorts of universal truths about life. Truths like life is pandemonium, guacamole is Mexican pudding and how to spell the word “lugubrious.”

The extreme costs associated with attending college have been a large pill students have begrudgingly dry-swallowed for decades. Besides tuition, which usually seems disproportionate to its benefit, one also has to factor in housing and food costs. Even though these are major issues for a large majority of the student population, there doesn’t seem to be any relief coming soon.

Being that we’re in college, it is very likely you’re living in a roommate situation. It is also very likely, at some point, you’re going to want to bring someone to the abode you share with your wonderful roommate.

Like most college students, I’m a ‘stay up until 6 a.m., sleep until noon then run to my class which starts at 12:15 p.m.’ sort of guy. Normally I wake during the night, find myself browsing Tumblr and StumbleUpon to find interesting things. Last week I was stumbling around the web when I found an article from USA Today entitled, “College drinking is liberating, and a good excuse.” I was intrigued.

As the new school year approaches, students look forward to many activities.

For many new students, finding their way around campus can be a sanity-eroding experience. A task that will only be made more difficult this fall with all of the construction and building closures happening around campus. It’s so confusing that even long-time students are having difficulty navigating around all of the mess.

You probably don’t know me, but I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Jerome; I’m a junior here at Eastern Michigan University studying psychology with a focus on human sexuality. I run a sexual health and culture blog unimaginatively named Let’s Talk About Sex at www.ltasex.info.

You might or might not know this, but college is expensive. Food, housing, books, tools, tuition, and if you’re like most of age students, beer, are all greedily waiting to rob your already sparse pockets. Most people just deal with the financial drain but, in this economy, that’s not always an option.

I have never been a fan of festivals. They’re smelly, there’s too many people and everything costs too much.

Your time at Eastern Michigan University can be the best time in your life. You’re away from home at a fantastic school filled with all sorts of people from around the world. You should be using this time to explore and mingle while you fill your mind with knowledge. Student groups and organizations will help you do just that.

If you’re like most students, for the next 2 months you will be making preparations to arrive at campus for the fall term. There’s lots of shopping to do, you’ve got to meet your new roommate, finalize your class schedule and make sure your finances are squared away. In the hustle, some things are bound to be overlooked. Important things, like… condoms.
