Women's basketball looks to build on an incredible 2014-2015 season by making a run at the MAC Tournament, with sights set on a berth into the NCAA Tournament,  and with talent like Cha Sweeney, Janay Morton and Chanise Baldwin, coach Tori Verdi sees realistic opportunity. 




EMU Basketball puts on a show at Rock the Rec 3

Basketball season is upon us as the Eastern Michigan University men’s and women’s team displayed their talents at Rock the Rec 3 on Tuesday Oct 27. The event shaped up to be a thrill as both men’s and women’s teams wanted to show what they’ve been working on.



Women's basketball schedule: games against Michigan, Kentucky and Ohio

Earlier this evening the Mid-American Conference released schedules for both men’s and women’s basketball teams for the 2015-2016 seasons. Notable non-conference games include traveling to the University of Kentucky, Harvard and Detroit. In-conference road trips to Bowling Green, Northern Illinois, and University of Toledo.

Verdi receives six-year contract extension

Eastern Michigan women’s basketball coach Tory Verdi received a contract extension for three years added onto his current contract following his teams 24-13 season. The contract extension was approved at the Board of Regents meeting on June 16, 2015.

Eagles fall in Sweet Sixteen of WNIT

The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team traveled down to Reed Green Coliseum on March 25; falling short in the Sweet 16 of the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) after losing to the University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles, 76-65.

Scouting Report of University of Louisiana Monroe

University of Louisiana Monroe’s 10th post-season appearance comes on the heels of their first 20-win season since the 2001-02 season, and first time to play beyond the regular season since the 1995-96 season. The Warhawks fell in the Sun Belt Conference semi-finals, 44-43 to Georgia Southern. The loss eliminated ULM from NCAA Tournament contention with the league’s automatic bid; instead the Warhawks are set for a first round College Basketball Invitational (CBI) showdown against Eastern Michigan.

EMU basketball to play in CBI tournament

The Eastern Michigan men's basketball team will travel to take on the University of Louisiana at Monroe Warhawks Wednesday in Monroe, La in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational tournament.

Men's Basketball: Tournament loss equals season end for EMU

Going into the quarterfinals for the third straight year, the Eastern Michigan men’s basketball team’s journey through the Mid-American Conference Tournament comes to a complete end after losing to the University of Toledo, 78-67; Toledo will now advance to the semifinals to face off the No. 1 seed, Central Michigan Chippewa’s.

Eagles advance in overtime victory

Raven Lee hit a three-point fade-away shot with 14 seconds left in regulation to send the Eastern Michigan men's basketball team, in the first round of the MAC tournament, into overtime and jumpstart a 62-61 victory in overtime over the University of Miami (OH).

Men's and women's basketball teams begin MAC tournament home

The Mid-American Conference men and women’s basketball tournament begins Monday at Eastern Michigan University’s Convocation Center. The Lady Eagles will take sixth seed after coming back from the trenches against the Central Michigan University Chippewa’s Saturday, 93-86.
