October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Women’s Resource Center is holding a series of events over the next few weeks to raise awareness of domestic violence and offer solutions to those suffering from it.

Student Center art gallery displays Perspectives

The art gallery in the Student Center is holding a new exhibit, Perspectives, curated by professor Diana Pancioli. According to the Perspectives press release, “Perspectives presents new sculptural ceramic work exploring a diverse set of ideas.” It is also the first exhibition for sculptural ceramics the University Gallery has hosted, according to Gregory Tom, the program’s director.

	Pinky Promise has officially arrived at Eastern Michigan University with high hopes from Misha Byrd, president and Lydia Seale, vice president. Their vision is becoming a sisterhood bonded by their experiences and the chance to become closer to God with their choice of remaining sexually inactive until marriage.

Alexander receives eight new Steinway brand pianos

Eastern Michigan’s University’s Department of Music and Dance had eight new upright pianos delivered to the Alexander Music Hall in a showy celebration last week. More than 60 students gathered to watch as the last piano was unloaded from the truck.
